Hydrabrasion Replaces Microdermabrasion
A device that delivers supersonic pressure to the skin for rejuvenation is showing efficacy for several conditions, including facial wrinkles, solar keratoses, and acne scars. This new device, which was developed by a Russian rocket scientist, is called the Jet-M and treatments are now available at the Skin Rejuvenation Clinic in Fendalton.
It uses pressurized oxygen to deliver saline into the superficial layers of the skin at supersonic velocities. “I predict the Jet-M will replace microdermabrasion,” says Dr Brigid Lee “The results are fantastic for acne, skin rejuvenation and skin lightening. The 200 meter per second, supersonic microflow of the Jet-M is made possible by a specialized nozzle handpiece that functions as a microdroplet accelerator. “There are three jet streams of normal saline,” Dr. Lee explains. “It’s like a high pressure washing of your face, with oxygen going through it. It really cleans out the pores. I recommend treatment once a month, the same as for microdermabrasion.

The device was cleared by the Food and Drug Administration in 2006 for delivery of saline into the skin. “It removes microscopic particles that are usually inaccessible, such as those between cells, in epidermal cracks, in sweat secretions, and in the depression of the hair follicle,” says Dr Lee.
It’s a simple, safe, painless, and effective device for skin rejuvenation.” The Jet-M restores a youthful looking appearance by reducing cellular buildup, strengthening capillary respiration, removing metabolic waste from tissues, hydrating and oxygenating tissues, and energizing cell renewal and the wound-healing process.
If you are interested in experiencing a Jet-M treatment either for skin rejuvenation or to gently diminish those wrinkles and age spots give Brigid or Denise a call so you too can experience the favoured treatment of European women.
